The bid package comes to $1.99 million dollars, just under the $ 2 million dollars the State is putting up for the project. Wednesday night the Geneva City Council is looking at the seven low bids that came in for work on the proposed lake front Visitors Center.
City Manager Matt Horn says they can proceed with the first phase and add the Boat Museum at a later point if they can reach a new accord with the Museum Board.
Massa Construction of Geneva bid 976-thousand for General Contracting. Lefrois Construction of Henrietta bid 369-thousand to do the site work. Other low bidders are: Ferraro Piling and Shoring of Alden, Landry Mechanical of LeRoy, O’Connell Electric of Victor, D’Amico Plumbing and Heating of Geneva and ES Systems of Rochester which would do the fire alarm system.
Horn says they would like to get the Finger Lakes Boat Museum part of the complex.
If the low bids are approved by the Geneva City Council Wednesday night, work on the 73-hundred square foot first pod could start in just about 30-days
