The Geneva Public School District is reemphasizing school security and safety following the Connecticut school massacre last month. Superintendent Trina Newton tells us the first order of business is to make sure every one in a school building belongs there. Visible ID's are required for all grownups.
Those without proper identification will be stopped and the School Resource Officer contacted. Parents, guardians, and other guests will not be given access to school hallways or classrooms without a pre-approved appointment, proper sign-in and badge. Lunch visits must also be scheduled in advance.
