Prank Phone Call Alarms Farmington Residents

A scary night for some residents at the Terrace Lane apartments in Farmington. Around 8:00 Friday night, Ontario County Sheriff's Deputies responded to 5938 Terrace Lane in Farmington after an unknown male called the residents and told them that their building was going to blow up. Sheriff's Deputies evacuated all residents from 5938 and 5936, (which adjoins 5938).

Deputies, along with Ontario County Sheriff's K9 trained in nitrate detection, searched 5938 and 5936. Residents were allowed to return to their homes within forty minutes after deputies found nothing dangerous on the property.

The investigation determined that the phone call was a prank, and that a juvenile male made that call. The case has been turned over to the Sheriff's Office Juvenile Aid Division.
