A bomb squad was called to the Village of Wellsburg on Saturday and now a man is in ther Chemung County Jail. Our news partners at YNN say a New York State Police bomb squad had to be called in to remove a military style mortar.
Fire fighters found the mortar after the man's car caught on fire then worked its way into his home on Church Street. The man living there has been charged with criminal trespassing because his home has been condemned but he was still living there. there were no charges filed for the shell.
The shell was taken care of safely, and no one was injured.
