A 44-year-old Schuyler County woman was struck by a car Friday night on Interstate Highway 86 in the Town of Corning.
According to State Police, Denise Switzer of Burdett was a passenger in a car that was traveling east on I-86 at around 5:30 p.m., when she jumped out of vehicle and across the highway barrier. Switzer was struck by a car traveling west.
Investigators say no charges against the driver were filed because Switzer intentionally ran in front of their vehicle. State Police would not say why Switzer did what she did.
There's been no update made available on her condition.
