On 01/29/13 @ 1:26am the Ithaca Police Department responded to the area of 100 Oak Ave on reported gun shots. Within minutes of the call Ithaca Police and Cornell Police units were on scene and began searching the area for victims and or suspects. Officers spoke with multiple residents who all heard the sound of 4 or 5 gun shots; no suspects were observed, however a dark colored vehicle was seen leaving the area just after the shots.
On 01/29/13 @2:05am As officers were still searching the scene, a report of a man with a gun shot wound at 503 Hancock St. was dispatched. Cornell Police held the scene at Oak Ave, and Ithaca Police Units responded to 503 Hancock St. Upon arrival the victim; who was conscious alert and walking, stated that he was shot in the gluteus maximums by an unknown male. The victim also confirmed that the incident occurred in the area of 100 Oak Ave, but would not provide any further information.
The victim was transported to the Hospital by Bangs Ambulance and is currently in stable condition. No other victims were located or reported. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Ithaca Police Department at 607-272-9973.
