
After much wrangling, and long after Superstorm Sandy pounded much of downstate and the surrounding area, relief is on the way. Congress approving $50.5 billion in emergency aid to parts of Long Island, the five boroughs of New York City, and New Jersey. Here's Senator Chuck Schumer.
In a 62-36 vote that came just about three months after the October storm came and went, President Obama must sign it before it becomes official. The money will help rebuild homes and businesses destroyed by Mother Nature's wrath. More than 130 deaths are blamed on the storm.
