Last week the Auburn City Council voted in favor of the Pango parking system. It will allow people in downtown Auburn to pay for parking electronically, instead of searching for the right amount of change. Auburn City Manager Doug Selby tells us the new system will be in place sooner than later.
There are concerns Pango will replace meters already in place, but Selby says don't worry.
Though the system is as simple as signing up for an account and downloading the app on your smartphone, people with less sophisticated cell phones will be able to call a toll-free number letting someone know they've parked. Selby says there's also one other step.
Selby says the city will put up signs saying which zone you're in.
