Slap Shot is the 1977 comedy film starring Paul Newman. It depicts a minor league hockey team that resorts to violent play to gain popularity in a declining factory town. It was filmed in part in Syracuse, Utica, and Hamilton. Last night the Slap Shot to remember was in another Upstate city.
Saturday night was a not night on the ice in Ithaca.
Z95.5, Ithaca's #1 Hit Music Channel, hosted a contest at a Cornell women’s hockey game that saw a once in a lifetime result. Rich Trinkl of Dryden buried a shot from across the ice and scored $10,000.
