A Steuben County grand jury has indicted a former corrections worker for his role in an armed robbery that occurred in late December.
Derek Storms was a probationary officer at the Steuben County Jail at the time of the alleged incident. He has since been placed on administrative leave and is in the Livingston County Jail without bail. The 25 year old Wellsville man is charged with two counts of attempted robbery and conspiracy.
Officers responded to Colonial Lawns apartments just after midnight for the report of a woman assaulted. Less than an hour later, police were called to a residence on West Washington Street, after three people allegedly entered an apartment with handguns. A weapon was allegedly discharged during that incident.
2 Bath residents were also charged for the incident.
