Last night the Auburn City Council received somes tips on how to be efficient. The Auburn Citizen reports Diana Smith from the MRB Group told councilors that differences between government and taxpayers exist because people don't always understand what they're paying for, or how the budget works. Smith, formerly the mayor of the dissolved Village of Seneca Falls, says those differences lead to a lack of trust in government. The MRB group is an engineering and surveying firm. They've recommended that the city should turn a sharp eye onto their own employees to keep all operations running smoothly. Smith says showing the taxpayers a breakdown of how the city spends money is part of healthy management.
