Even though he received 48 percent of the vote in the 2012 election against Congressman Tom Reed, former candidate Nate Shinagawa announced this week he will not run in 2014 for the 23rd District seat. Shinagawa currently serves as the administrative director at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, and said he wants to continue his focus on health care reform. He believes he'll be a political factor again soon.
