Canandaigua Board Rejects Spa Zoning Request

The Canandaigua Town Board has rejected a developer's request that would have paved the way for a spa and hotel off Middle Cheshire Road. The board denied a request for planned unit development status from the developers of the proposed Everwilde Inn and Spa. The 143 acre site of the proposed spa is zoned residential. Opponents said a hotel is not a good fit for their wooded, residential neighborhood. An overflow crowd attended last night's meeting. A spokesperson for the developer says the ruling does not mean the end of the project.
