Update: One Suspect Arrested in October Burglary in Port Byron

Update, 9:15 a.m.: The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office reports Duane Maracle was charged with third degree burglary and petit larceny.

23 year old Duane Maracle of Newark has been arrested in connection with an October 21st, 2012 burglary at Brenda's Diner on Route 31 in Port Byron.

According to the news release, Wayne County Sheriff's Department Corrections Officers recognized still photographs taken from surveillance video on the departments website Cayugacrime.com and notified detectives. On April 24th, several interviews were conducted and Maracle was arrested.

Maracle was arraigned in the Town of Mentz Court and remanded to Cayuga County Jail on $2500 cash or $5000 bond. 

Investigators are still attempting to positively identify a female accomplice who can be seen but not clearly identified in the video.
