Jessica N. Gentile
Jessica N. Gentile, 25, of Tuxill Square, Auburn, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 8, 2013. She was born in Auburn on Aug. 24, 1987, the daughter of John and Michelle (Fedigan) Gentile Jones. "Jett," as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, was an Auburn High School graduate, class of 2005. She continued on with her education at Cayuga Community College and finished up her Bachelor's degree in Communications at SUNY Cortland, where she graduated summa cum laude. To know Jess, was to love her. She always lit up the room, when she was in your presence. "Jett" was one of the funniest, free spirited girls that you just couldn't get enough of. She loved listening to all types of music, especially Michael Jackson. She also enjoyed cooking, babysitting, and just being an "old soul." "Old soul" meaning, she loved many things that a typical 25 year old wouldn't get involved with, like crocheting and crafts. Jessica also enjoyed exercising and just spending time with her family and many dear friends. Jess will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and will continue to smile over us forever. She is survived by her loving parents, father, John (Wendie) Gentile; her mother, Michele (step-father, Kevin) Jones; a sister, Sarah Speno; her paternal grandfather, Max (Yolanda) Gentile; maternal grandfather, Gary Fedigan Sr.; aunt, Sue Correy (Chas) Allen; uncle, Gary (Regina Carnicelli) Fedigan Jr.; aunt, Carol (Bob) Shepard; aunt, Missy(GiGi Gregory) Gentile; uncle, David Gentile; uncle, Greg (Julie) Gentile, Mike Gentile, Mark (Ann Marie) Gentile, Andi Gentile, as well as several cousins and numerous friends. Jessica was predeceased by both grandmothers, Lucy Gentile, in 1991, and Ann Fedigan, in 2009, who greeted her at the gates of heaven. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Church for Jessica's Mass of Christian burial with the pastor, Rev. Frank Lioi as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours are from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn, NY 13021. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jessica's memory to either Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn, NY 13021 or to Matthew House, 43 Metcalf Drive, Auburn, NY 13021.
