One of South Seneca's own will be taking the superintendent reina beginning July 1st. Janie Nusser who is the current South Seneca Central School District's superintendent is retiring June 30 after 11 years with the district.
Wednesday night the South Seneca School Board appointed former Middle and High School Principal Steve Zielinski. Zielinski who used to teach math and science in the district will begin his new position July 1st.
According to the Finger Lakes Times he is known as a leader in curriculum and staff development, having played a key role in putting together the district’s Annual Professional Performance Review plan. He currently serves as president of the New York State Middle School Association and is an editor and regular contributor to the statewide scholarly journal In Transition. Zielinski also has a hand in the merger discussions between Romulus and South Seneca School districts as a member of the advisory committee. Voters in each district will decide the fate of a merger in a September straw vote.
