The massive fire that rocked downtown Palmyra on Friday the 3rd was devastating to businesses, families and the community.
The fire destroyed the apartments of 10 families, and smoke-and water damaged 6 others.
11 families are still currently displaced. However, that community has come together in many ways.
So far, many items have been donated to help those who lost everything due to the fire.
Tonight they will continue the efforts with a benefit at the Lock 29 Tavern on East Main Street in Palmyra at 8pm.
There will be live local bands, including Fun Guys, Memphis Mafia, Bar Code, Devin McGrath, and Aaron Austin.
Lock 29 Tavern will be collecting cash donations, asking a donation at the door, and will offer 50/50 raffles.
The money will go to the Good Neighbor Fire Fund, being managed by "Rebuilding Palmyra", a grassroots volunteer joint effort of people from local churches and the American Legion.
A facebook page by that name is available to offer additional information and ways to help.
Friday Evening, there was a post on that Facebook page about a newly donated space.
You can donate again today from Noon to 5, by bringing any and all household goods and furnishings to the 4H building of the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Palmyra.
