Captured Schuyler Co. Fugitive To Go To Prison

The search for a wanted Schuyler County criminal has ended.  32 year old Matthew Voorhees was taken into custody Friday morning by the Pennsylvania State Police near Towanda, PA.  Schuyler County Sheriff Bill Yessman says not a lot is known at this time as far as details that led to Voorhees' apprehension

Voorhees was wanted on a bench warrant out of Schuyler County Court for failing to appear for sentencing back in December.

Yessman says extradition proceedings are underway to bring Voorhees back to Schuyler County.  Voorhees was convicted of burglarizing homes in Montour Falls, Tyrone and Watkins Glen. He's already spent time in prison for burgarlies committed in 1999.
