Gillibrand, Maffei Announce Brownfield Effort

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Congressman Dan Maffei will be in Syracuse Monday to announce a new effort to clean up and rebuild on so-called brownfield sites.  They'll hold an 11 AM news conference at the Syracuse Community Health Center's Healthcare Campus Project at 930 South Salina Street.  The /Brownfields Utilization, Investment and Local Development, or Build Act, would jumpstart development efforts and provide additional resources for sites in need of redevelopment.  The measure would allow local municipalities and non-profit organizations access to more money, tools and resources as they work toward project completion as well as help to create and sustain jobs.
