New Ontario County 911 Communications System Going Live October 9th

After years of planning, constructing and looking for the right equipment, Ontario County's new Next Generation 9-1-1 and Emergency Radio Communications system is slated to go live October 9th. Sheriff Phil Povero says the communications hub will be in Canandaigua.

Law enforcement, fire departments and ambulance crews will be able to communicate directly with each other on the same frequencies in the 700-megahertz range.
