Former Cayuga County Employee Charged with Grand Larceny

A former employee in the Cayuga County Treasurer's Office has been arrested for grand larceny. Lieutenant Joseph Weeks from the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office says Miriam Knapp was arrested Tuesday, and charged with two counts of grand larceny and one count of falsifying business records, after two separate investigations.

69-year-old Knapp is accused of stealing more than 25 thousand dollars from property tax collections between 2007 and 2012. Knapp was arraigned in Auburn City Court Tuesday afternoon, and was released on her own recognizance.
