One Suspect Sought in Canandaigua Burglary

At about 8:30 pm on August 28, 2013, the City of Canandaigua Police Department charged Horace (AKA "Ace") Whipset, age 27, who does not have a permanent address, with two counts of robbery in the second degree, class C felonies.

Whipset is accused of robbing a male on Bemis Street on August 2 at about 8:15 am. He is accused of causing physical injury to the victim while forcibly stealing approximately $100 and while being assisted by another person. The victim sustained several injuries to his face, head and legs. He was treated at Thompson Hospital.

Whipset was arrested in a camper on Ganyard Hill Road in the town of Bristol. He attempted to evade arrest by hiding under a bed.

Police are still looking for the second suspect involved in the robbery. He has been identified as William (AKA Billy) Kelly. Kelly is a 19 year old white male. He has brown hair and weighs approximately 150 pounds. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the City of Canandaigua Police Department at (585) 394-3311.

Whipset was arraigned in City Court and was remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $75,000 cash $100,000 bond.
