Ceremony Renames Part of 14A After Christopher Scott

Prior to Saturday's season opening high school football game, members of the Dundee community gathered at Scotsmen Field for a ceremony honoring 2009 graduate Christopher Scott, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2011.  Working with the village and the American Legion, Assemblyman Phil Palmesano and State Senator Tom O'Mara were able to pass legislation that would see the State Department of Transportation rename a 9 mile portion of State Route 14A in memory of the fallen soldier.  Senator O'Mara spoke at Saturday's ceremony

Assemblyman Palmesano said Scott is a role model for the younger generation.

Scott graduated from Dundee Central School in 2009 and began service in the Army.  He was assigned to units including the 561st Military Police Company, 716th Military Police Battalion and the 101st Sustainment Brigade.
