A civil lawsuit has been filed against the Corning-Painted Post School district and former teacher Teri Decker by the family of the former Corning East student that received sexually explicit text messages from Decker.
The lawsuit also names the district's board of education and the school's principal. Decker admitted to sending close to 5-THOUSAND text messages to the 16 year old. She pled guilty to endangering the welfare of a child and spent 15 days in jail.
The lawsuit claims the victim suffered severe emotional problems and has been bullied and forced to move after the relationship was made public. The claim seeks unspecified compensation and punitive damages.
