Update: Police ID Man Found Dead in Canandaigua Outlet

There are a lot of questions surrounding the discovery of  the  body of a 66 year old Canandaigua man in  the Canandaigua Lake Outlet around 8 Sunday morning. The man has now be identified as Lewis E. McCall.  His body was spotted in shallow water by a fisherman.

Police are trying to  determine if  McCall had been been involved in a Saturday night fight on the grounds of the Old Wegmans Plaza . 


The death is being listed as “suspicious” . Any one with information on the fight and other details on the case can call Canandaigua Police at 585-394-3311. New York State Police are assisting in the case




The Ontario County Sheriff's office is investigating a body that was found in Canandaigua Lake.  Little information has been released.  The body,  discovered in the Canandaigua outlet near Lakeshore Drive was found by fisherman.

Witnesses tell police two white males and one white female were seen in the parking lot outside the old Wegmans Plaza Saturday night,  the two men were in some sort of physical altercation.

The body of a 66 year old man was found in a lake outlet about 40 yards from that parking lot. Police don't know if that altercation led to the body found, but it's something they’re looking into. Police are not calling this a homicide yet.
