On Thursday, August 1, 2013, the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) along with the Ithaca Police Department, the Groton Police Department and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, after an ongoing investigation, arrested the following three subjects for the indicated charges:
Charles Padmore, age 29, of 471 Hayts Road, Apt # C, Ithaca, NY 14850
Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree (4 Counts)
Criminal Possession Weapon 3rd Degree
Desiree H. Ward, age 23, of 471 Hayts Road Apt # C, Ithaca, NY 14850
Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree (4 counts)
Criminal Possession Weapon 4th Degree
Rachel M. Lefferts, age 23 of 2250 North Triphammer Road, Ithaca, NY 14850
Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 7th Degree
On August 1, 2013, Police agencies in the Tompkins County area arrested the named subjects after executing search warrants in the Town of Enfield following a three (3) month narcotics investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics in the City of Ithaca and surrounding areas. .
Search warrants were executed by members of the New York State Police, Ithaca Police Department, Groton Police Department and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office at the residence of Desiree Ward and Charles Padmore, 471 Hayts Road, Apartment C, Town of Enfield, N.Y. and on a vehicle being operated by Rachel Lefferts. Illegal narcotics consisting of heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine with an estimated value in excess of $25,000 and three firearms were seized.
All three subjects were arraigned in the Town of Ithaca Court and remanded to the Tompkins County jail without bail.
