GENEVA / VICTOR - Ellen D. "Shorty" Hussey, 69, of Victor and Geneva, passed away on Tuesday (May 7, 2013) at Geneva General Hospital.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday (May 9) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home, 45 High St., Geneva. Funeral services will be held on Friday (May 10) at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Shorty was born on October 31, 1943 in Seneca Falls, the daughter of Frank and AlaDean Stahlnecker Laquitara. She worked at Gitsis Texas Hots on Monroe Ave. in Rochester for 31 years as a waitress. Shorty was a member of the Woman of the Moose Finger Lakes Chapter 41, Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 6433 Waterloo. Shorty was an avid bowler and bowled on Monday nights at Victor Raceway Lanes. She loved the Buffalo Bills and supported them for years.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Paul "Huss"; children, Jacqueline (Jeff) Hussey-Synyard of Palmyra, Richard E. Hussey of Waterloo and Paula (Shawn) Hannux of Phelps; grandchildren, Ashley (Colter Morrison) Maddox, Jordan Maddox, Jessica Hussey and Olivia Hannux; great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Garrett, Reiken and Leighahna; mother, AlaDean Zello of Geneva; brothers and sisters, Josephine Pollino of Phelps, Gloria (John) Chilson of Florida, Joe Zello, Jr. of Ionia, John (Kim) Zello of Waterloo and Dolly (Paul) Bates of Waterloo; brother-in-law, Jack Hussey of Pennsylvania; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shorty was predeceased by her father, Frank Laquitara; step-father, Joe Zello, Sr.; brother-in-law, Jay Pollino; sister-in-law, Sue Zello.
