GENEVA - Richard E. Vogt, 74, of Lyceum St. passed away unexpectedly in his home on Thursday (August 15, 2013). There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral Services and burial in Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
Richard was born in Geneva and was a lifelong resident. He was the son of the late Nelson and Ocie Starr Vogt. He was a graduate of Geneva High School and served his country in the US Army from 1957-63. He was the former owner of Don A. Vogt Welding in Geneva and was a member of Winnek Post #396 American Legion and VFW Post # 2670.
He is survived by his son, Andrew L. (Elizabeth Hiney) Vogt of Bronxville, N.Y.; two daughters, Mary Beth (Dean) Mayne of Bettendorf, Iowa and Peggy McMahon of Harriman, N.Y.; sister Lois Warner of Geneva and his former wife, Mary Lou Vogt of Geneva; his seven grandchildren, Matthew McMahon, Rebecca Vogt, Mary Lynn McMahon, Molly Mayne, Patrick McMahon, Madeline Vogt and Andrew Vogt; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Richard Vogt and several brothers and sisters.
