James R. "Bob" "Mutt" Coyne CANANDAIGUA - James R. "Bob" "Mutt" Coyne, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. He was a loving, devoted dad and pa. He is survived by five children, Michael "Mutt" (Jeanne) Coyne, Patty (Jim) Stahl, Bob (Carol) Coyne, Pam (Tom) Scharr and Cathy (Marty) Crosby; 13 grandchildren, Jimmy, J. T., David, Dawn, Megan, Tanner, Matthew, Katie, Courtney, Andrew, Michael, Rob and Adam; five great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Katie) Coyne; a niece and a nephew; and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his wife, the love of his life, MaryLu Coyne in 1970. Bob was born in Canandaigua and was the son of James P. and Marion (Breen) Coyne. He was a graduate of St. Mary's School and Canandaigua Academy. Bob was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in Korea for two years. He retired from the VA Medical Center in 1992 after 40 years there. Bob was a member of St. Mary's Church, American Legion Post 256, and Canandaigua Elks Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and attending their school and sporting events. Bob was an avid golfer, walker and runner. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Canandaigua. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's School, 16 Gibson St., Canandaigua, NY 14424. Arrangements are by Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home Inc., Canandaigua.
