GENEVA– John W. "Jack" Bishop, age 86, died on Saturday (December 31, 2016) at Geneva General Hospital.
There will be no prior calling hours. Services and internment will be held at the convenience of the family.
It is requested that memorial donations be made to Cracker Box Palace Farm Animal Haven in Alton, NY.
Jack was born on July 1, 1930 in Geneva, N.Y. the son of the late John A. and Dorothy Parish Bishop. He was a Marine Veteran of the Korean Conflict
. Jack started working at Elderlee in Oaks Corners as a truck driver and retired as Plant Superintendent after almost 40 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a love of horses. Jack enjoyed camping trips to Canada with his family. He also had a passion for Western History and enjoyed watching Western movies. His family was most important.
Jack is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Bishop; children Jacquelyn (Paul) Sheerer of HI, Yvonne (George) Corda of Phelps, Kyle (Sherry) Washburn of Waterloo, and Sue (Steve) Evans of Geneva; four granddaughters Chelsea Adams of Georgia, Sarah (Dan) Cetta of N.J., Andrea (Ken) Murphy of Waterloo, and Kara (Jeff) Helstrom of Geneva;
he was Papa to six great-grandchildren Tyler, Leah, Dylan, Arianna, Evan and Jonah; niece, Robin Tillman; and family of Waterloo, Nephew Rick (Luann) Bishop, and family from Ithaca.
Jack was predeceased by his brother, Claude "Bud" Bishop.
