Whitney G. Smith Whitney G. Smith, of Chosen Spot Apartment, where he will be greatly missed, was active and independent until suffering a stroke on Easter Sunday morning. He was reunited with his wife of 58 years, Helen R. Smith, on April 23, 2012, at Hospeace House in Naples. He is survived by a daughter, Norrine McMillan of Tucson, Ariz.; son, James W. Smith of Lake worth, Fla.; and cousins, nieces and nephews. Whitney was born on Sept. 11, 1913, in Rochester. He had lived on East Lake Road for 70 years. He enjoyed trolling for trout and watching the changing moods of the lake. Whitney led the choir at Cottage City United Church for many years. There will be no calling hours. Per his wishes, a private graveside service will be held by the family. Contributions may be made in his name to F.F.
