Mary F. Stempkowski Gebczyk

AUBURN | Mary F. Stempkowski Gebczyk, 86, widow of Joseph M. Gebczyk, of Cross Street, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at her home. Born in Clymer, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Josephine (Napieral) Stempkowki. Mary was a communicant of St. Hyacinth Church and a former member of the S.K. American Legion Post No. 1324 Auxiliary. Surviving are her children, Michael (Patsy) Gebczyk, of Auburn, Suzanne (Francis) Gantley, of Fulton, Robert (Deborah) Gebczyk, of Moravia, and Nancy (Vincent) Tassone, of Auburn; daughter-in-law, Deborah Gebczyk, of Moravia; two sisters, Alice Pawlowski and Sophie Urbanik, of Dunkirk; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Joseph M. Gebczyk in 1976; her son, Joseph in 2008; her brother, John Stempkowski; sister-in-law, Diane Stempkowski; and brothers-in-law, Al Pawlowski and Chappy Urbanik. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, at the Nicpon Funeral Home, 235 State St. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Saturday, in St. Hyacinth Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery
