NEWARK - Robert W. Brockhuizen, 75, died Monday (April 30, 2012) at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
Friends may call from 1 – 4 P.M. on Friday (May 4th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, New ark. A Funeral Service will follow the calling hours.

Mr. Brockhuizen was born on July 7, 1936, in East Palmyra, the son of the late Herman and Adriana Robbe Brockhuizen. He graduated from Newark High School Class of 1956. For over 40 years, Bob worked at Garlock, Inc. in Palmyra where he was superintendent in the power house, retiring in 1996. He was a long time member of the Palmyra Moose Club. Bob was a great card player and loved to paint and work in his garden.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Deanna Garrett Brockhuizen; his children Steven (Alexandra) of Shortsville, Rebecca (Harrison) Allerton of Newark, JoAnne (Steven) Galasso of Lutherville, MD, and Robyn (Victor) Wittels of Fairport; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sisters Cora (Kenneth) Graham of Port Gibson and Minnie Van Kouwenbert of Palmyra, N.J.; many nieces and nephews.
Bob is predeceased by his twin brother Wilson, brothers Ed, Herm, Case and Tom; sisters Marie and Adrianna.
