PENN YAN - Robert B. Kennedy Sr., age 75, formerly of 1255 Anthony Rd., Penn Yan, passed away Monday (April 30, 2012) at home.
With respect to Bob's wishes, there will be no prior calling hours or funeral services. A gathering celebrating his life will be held at the Penn Yan Moose Club on Friday (May 4) at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Finger Lakes Two Cylinder Club, 1885 Scoon Rd., Geneva, N.Y. 14456.
Robert was born in Penn Yan, N.Y. on October 4, 1936, the son of Lester and Mildred Kennedy. He graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1955, and served his country with the US Army from 1956 to 1960. He worked for Acme markets as Produce Manager for 43 years. He was a member of the Penn Yan American Legion and the Penn Yan Moose Lodge where he served as Governor. In addition to being a loved husband and father, he was an avid John Deere enthusiast and took pride in his many tractors and collectables.
Robert is survived by his wife of 49 years, Eva Kennedy, his children, Lyn (Sue) Kennedy, Pamela Webster, Cheryl (Jim) Fenton, Teri Jo (Mark) Liberatore, Robert (Wendy Green-Forth ) Kennedy, Jr., David Kennedy, Roberts' canine companion, Cody, and his 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son Ronald Kennedy; and daughter-in-law, Kari Kennedy.
