Anthony Joseph "Gus" Williams

LYONS - Anthony Joseph (Gus) Williams, 99, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
No prior calling hours. A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, at St. Joseph the Worker, St. Michael's Church, Phelps St., Lyons. Burial in South Lyons Cemetery.

Gus was born in Lyons March 24,1913, son of Augustus and Bessie LaNassa Williams. He was active in football, baseball, and basketball in his high school years. He was a member of the Lyons Sports Hall of Fame. He worked for Parker Hanni fin in Lyons for 30 years and was a plant manager at one time. He also worked for Remington Rand in Syracuse during the war. He was a member of St. Michael's Church and a former member of the Lyons Fire Dept. Co. 5.
Survived by his son, Ed (Marilyn) Williams of Centreville, MO., three grandchildren, Tom, Jim and Holly; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Cameron; sister in law, Anna Tricarico of Lyons; nieces, nephews,
He was predeceased by his wife, Rose, January 18, 2003.
