WATERLOO - Joan H. Dingman, 76, of Brewer Rd., Waterloo, N.Y., died Saturday (May 12, 2012) at Seneca Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Waterloo, NY.
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday (May 15) followed by a funeral service at the funeral home with the Rev. James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery, Marion, N.Y. at the convenience of the family.

Joan was born in Rochester, N.Y. on June 1, 1935, the daughter of the late Herbert & Mary Schmitt Kester. She had resided in Waterloo since 1980, moving from the Sodus, Williamson area. Joan was a great lover of the game of bingo and going to garage sales. She loved her house plants and was known to have a green thumb. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, with both Dale Earnhardt Sr. & Jr. as her favorites and she treasured her extensive angel collection. She was a loving mother, grandmother, & great-grandmother
She is survived by three daughters, Marylou (Richard) Tiernan of Rochester, N.Y., Sharon (James) Velte of Waterloo, Michelle Harris of Waterloo; two sons, Roger (Polly) DeBryne of Wolcott, N.Y., Eugene (Beatrice) DeBryne of Marion, N.Y.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Alberta VanDusen of Rochester, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Lee & Margaret Dickinson; her special friends, Shelby Snyder and Edna Scoville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her husband, Stanley "Poppy" Dingman who died April 5, 1999, and her brother, Herbert Kester.
