AUBURN | Helen Tehan, 92, formerly of Guilfoil Avenue, Auburn, died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Cayuga County Nursing Home. Born in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Alfred F. and Lula Seifried Herman. Helen retired from Mercy Health & Rehabilitation Center where she was a nurse's aid. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting and crocheting and was an avid reader. She was a member of the United Church of Auburn. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Buckanan, of Auburn; a son, Mike Tehan and his wife, May Ellen, of Latham; a brother, Alfred F. Herman, Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Rochester; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond A. Tehan in 1970 and by her sister, Mary Jane Martin. Friends may visit the family from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday June 13, at Langham Funeral Home, Auburn. A prayer service will he held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday followed by burial in Soule Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Helen's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
