OSWEGO | Richard W. “Dick� Pero, 79, of Oswego, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at University Hospital in Syracuse. He was born in Syracuse and grew up in Cato before moving to Oswego in 1963. Dick was a self-employed truck driver for 24 years, shipping produce from Florida to New York before becoming a member of the Teamsters Local 317, Syracuse. He then drove for Lakeshore Transportation in Oswego until his retirement in 1998. Dick was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a collector of International Harvester tractors and collectibles. Dick was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Lena Pero; and by a brother, William Pero. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Hawk Pero; one son, Edward R. Pero, of Oswego; a brother, Albert (Barbara) Pero, of Liverpool; six grandchildren and two nieces.
