 NEWARK - Doris Pauline Cunningham, 94, went to meet her Lord face to face on Monday (July 9, 2012) while at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home.
Calling hours will be private. Family and friends may attend a Memorial Service Saturday (July 14) at 11 a.m. at the Woodlane Community Church, 5694 Woodlane, Newark, 14513. Where family would suggest donations be sent in memory of Mrs. Cunningham.
Mrs. Cunningham was born the daughter of the late Anthony and Pauline (Lavas) Schmitt on Tuesday, June 4, 1918 in Buffalo, N.Y. She was a member of the Woodlane Church for most of her life. Over the years she found strength and hope in reading God's Word each day. Over the last couple years friends would visit Mrs. Cunningham at the nursing home and read the Bible to her each day. Mrs. Cunningham retired from Garlock Corp. in 1973 where she worked as a machine operator. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Cunningham will be remembered by her son and daughter-in-law Richard and Janet (DeFisher) Cunningham of Newark; daughter and son-in-law Joan and Fred McGowan of Newark; four grandchildren Rebecca, Richard, Jeffery and Todd; six great grandchildren; many friends at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home.
Mrs. Cunningham was predeceased by her loving husband Richard Cunningham in 1999; two sisters Catherine Cunningham in 1997 and Beatrice VanderLyke in 1998.
