Patricia Anne Kenny, 88, an Auburn native, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012. She was born on March 26, 1924, the daughter of Raymond M. and Theresa Bryant Kenny. She was a graduate of Holy Family High School with the class of 1942. As a member of the Sisters of Mercy from 1943-1975 her name was Sister Theresa Mary. While a member of the order she graduated from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing, Rochester, Alfred University with a master's degree in education. During her career she was a former nursing supervisor at St. James Hospital, Hornell; St. Luke's Medical Center, Boise Idaho; a former nursing faculty member at Alfred University and University of Nevada at Reno; and retired as a director of health education from Cayuga Onondaga BOCES in 2003. After her retirement she volunteered at Hospice of the Finger Lakes and Sacred Heart Church. Surviving are her brother, William B. Kenny and Carole, of Auburn; sister-in-law, Roberta Kenny, of Rochester; nieces, nephews, Theresa Kline and Steve, of Auburn, Anne Peck and Robert, of Canandaigua, William B. Kenny, Jr. and Susan, of West Hartford, Conn., Carole Regis and Edward, of Beaver Falls, Pa.; Elizabeth Duin and Derek, of Cary, N.C.; Mark Kenny and Wanda, of Liverpool; Mary Carey, of Schenectady; 19 greatnieces, nephews and a cousin, Frederick Bryant, of Syracuse. She was predeceased by her parents and in 2011 by her brother Raymond Kenny. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 in Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Farrell's Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn. Memorials may be made to either Hospice of the Finger Lakes or Sacred Heart Church.
