Barbara Ann Garrison

PENN YAN - Barbara Ann Garrison, 73, passed away on Sunday (October 21, 2012).
Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday (October 24) at Weldon Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday (October 25) from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery immediatly following services.
The family requests memorial donations are made to the Penn Yan Fire Department Ladies Auxillary or an organization of one's choice.
She was born in Penn Yan, New York, on October 26, 1938 to Gordon and Lenora (Campbell) Allen. She spent many years of her life working in the customer service industry. She was a reservation agent for American Airlines, a travel booking agent for two local travel agencies, a cashier at Montgomery Ward, Sears and Morgan's Grocery, an Avon sales representative and she welcomed shoppers to the local Kmart in Geneva, New York.
She enjoyed her volunteer work with the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxillary unit as well as the Northern Central Yates County and Penn Yan aid to the military for the American Red Cross.
Barbara will be dearly missed by her companion of 38 years, Roger Gurba; her daughters, Kelly (George) Palmisano of Liverpool, Naomi (Michael) Gleason of Penn Yan, Sharon (Keith) Thomas of Penn yan; step-grandson, Anthony Gleason; granddaughter, Emille Thomas and several nices, nephews and cousins.
She was predecesed in death by her father, Gordon; her mother, Lenora; her brother, Lewis; and her sister, Virginia.
