AUBURN | Betty Jean Harris LaClair, 83, of Oak Creek Apartments, Auburn, passed away peacefully Monday morning, Oct. 29, 2012, at Auburn Community Hospital. She was born in Bradford, Pa., the daughter of the late Persons and Mae Smith Harris and had been an area resident for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, Betty had been employed by T.R.W. in Union Springs and Borden's in Syracuse. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by four sisters; Jeannette Walwarth, Marion Webster, Hazel Poole and Pauline Harris; four brothers, Charles, Edward, Clifford and Robert Harris. There are no calling hours. A private service and burial will be held Thursday, Nov. 1, in Lakeview Cemetery in Fleming, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Pettigrass Funeral Home.
