GENEVA - Catherine E. Smith, 60, loving wife and mother, of 4455 Number Nine Road, Geneva, lost a long battle with cancer on Saturday (November 3, 2012) at Clifton Springs Hospital.
There will be no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Thursday (November 8) at 5:00 p.m. at the Seneca Number Nine Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Amy Loving, Pastor will officiate. The burial will be at the convenience of the family in Spring Brook Cemetery in Seneca Falls.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Finger Lakes Hematology and Oncology in care of Clifton Springs Hospital: 6 Ambulance Drive, Clifton Springs, NY 14432.
Cathy was born August 15, 1952 in Waterloo, N.Y., the daughter of Thomas and Betty Fitzpatrick. She was employed by GTE-Sylvania, IEC, and had just completed her 21st year of service at Wal-Mart in Geneva. She pitched horseshoes for the Seneca Short Shooters for over 20 years, and was an avid bowler. She loved camping, traveling, and her dogs.
She is survived by her husband Theodore F. Smith of Geneva; one son, Theodore T. Smith (Elizabeth Kleisley) of Geneva; one daughter, Nicole E. Smith (Jeff Baley) of Geneva; one brother, Jack E. (Kathy) Fitzpatrick of Geneva; an uncle, Edward Smink of Seneca Falls; and one aunt Bertha Redmond of Pittston, Penn. and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Thomas F. and Betty Fitzpatrick; her brother, Thomas J. Fitzpatrick; her mother-in-law Pauline Andrews; brother-in-law Gerald "Bucky" Andrews; and sister-in-law Nancy Clough.
