Gorham - Lloyd W. Rogers, age 88, entered into eternal rest with our Heavenly Father on (November 17, 2012).
Friends may call Monday (Nov. 19th) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday (Nov. 20th) at 11 a.m. at St. Theresa's Church in Stanley. Burial will be in Gorham Cemetery.

A veteran of World War II, he proudly served his country as a US Marine for 3 years as a tail gunner on a B 25 bomber with 48 combat missions in the Pacific Theater. During this time he earned two Distinguished Flying Crosses and 7 Air Medals.
Lloyd was employed as Superintendent of Building and Grounds by Marcus Whitman (Gorham) schools for 33 years. He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign War, the Gorham Historical Society, and was a charter member of the George W. Bush WW II memorial.
A lifelong resident of Gorham, N.Y., he was the loving and devoted husband of Betty Rogers, and father of Dr. Daniel (Dianne) Rogers of Erie, Penn., Patricia (Dr. James) Maressa of Newark, N.Y. and Kathleen (Phillip) Knapp of Romulus, N.Y. He had six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Lloyd is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Margaret Rogers of Penn Yan, N.Y., Joanne Kindelberger of Stanley, N.Y. and Patricia (Fred) Searles of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
The son of Mabel and Daniel Rogers, Lloyd was born in Potter, N.Y. He was predeceased by three brothers, Frank, Ralph and Harold Rogers; and one sister, Mildred Hey.
