PENN YAN - Robert L. Wager, passed away peacefully at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Penn Yan on (November 15, 2012) with family by his side.
Respecting Robert's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

During his lifetime Bob was involved in many activities and had many accomplishments. Born November 12, 1920 in the Town of Barrington, Yates County N.Y., to Charlote Olive Clark Wager and Forrest Wager. Bob was a lifelong resident of Yates County. He worked at B.R. Dewitt as a concrete salesman, and he was also owner/operator of a local bulldozing business. He was founder and developer of the Apple Barrel Orchards of Penn Yan and apple sales units in Corning, Bath and Hornell N.Y. Bob was a lifetime member of the N.Y.S. Fruit Testing Assoc., a lifetime member of the Penn Yan Elks Lodge #1722. Bob attended Penn Yan Academy and took classes at Corning Community College and Finger Lakes Community College. He was also a licensed real estate agent for Century 21 of Penn Yan and served on the Town of Jerusalem Planning Board for several years. He will be remembered by most as Apple Bob, known for his quick wit sense of humor. He loved talking to customers who came to buy his produce.
Bob is survived by his sisters, Betty Babcock and Loretta (John) Tesch; daughter, Jeanne (Dale) Hansen of Penn Yan; son, Phillip (LouAnne) Wager of Red Creek; stepdaughters, Georgette (Steve) Chisom of North Carolina and Krista Passalacqua of Canandaigua; grandchildren, Staci (Dave) Dayton, Heidi (James) Maciejewski, Holly (Charles) Moynihan, Steven Wager, Kelsi and Kyle Chisom, Ryan and Brandon Delaney; great-grandchildren, Charles Moynihan IV, Shannon Moynihan, Dylan and Drew Dayton; sister-in-law, Barbara Wager, several nieces, nephews; and a very special lifelong friend of Bob and Sandy's, Laura Crans.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife, Sandra; and his brothers, Charles and Harold Wager; and sister-in-law, Jean.
