WILLIAMSON - (November 18, 2012) at age 82. Calling hours will be held on Friday (November 23) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Williamson, 4146 East Main Street, Williamson, N.Y. A memorial service will be held Saturday (November 24) at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Williamson. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Williamson, PO Box 172, Williamson, NY 14589. Arrangements by Young Funeral Home. Ralph was born in Williamson and graduated from Williamson Central School in 1948. Ralph was a life long farmer, raising vegetable crops and fruit for sale at local farm markets as well as hogs, cattle, sheep and poultry. Ralph was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Williamson, the Williamson Orphix Fraternity, the New York State Pork Producers, and the Williamson Rotary. Ralph was also a lifetime supporter of Wayne County Cooperative Extension, and was a 4-H leader for over 40 years. Ralph was an excellent cook and baker and twice won first prize in the Wayne County Pie Baking Contest. Ralph was most proud of the accomplishments of wife, MaryAnn and he shared honors with her as marshals of the Apple Blossom Parade during her tenure as Williamson Town Supervisor. Ralph and MaryAnn were active with the Wayne County and Williamson Republican Committees. Ralph was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Gregarious and fun loving, Ralph will be missed by family and friends. He is survived by daughter, Carolyn (Roger) Kaveny of Clyde; and son, Jeffrey Bliek of Williamson; brother, Richard (June) Bliek of Williamson; sister-in-law, Carol Countryman of North Rose; brothers-in-law, Harold H. Jr. (Lucille) Smith of North Rose, David (Sally) Smith of Cato, Philip (Suzanne) Smith of North Rose; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ralph is predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, MaryAnn, who passed away earlier this year, April 9, 2012; his parents, John and Anna Bliek of Williamson; and in-laws, Harold H. Sr. and Jennie Smith of North Rose.
