MORAVIA | Scott L. Lansdowne, 58, of Moravia, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 19, 2012. Born, Dec. 27, 1953 in Cortland, Scott was the son of Jay and Louise Recke Lansdowne and a resident of the area his entire life. Scott was currently employed by the J.M. Murray Center and prior to that was employed for 20 years at Cortland Regional Medical Center. He had faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army and was an avid hunter, fisherman and woodworker. Scott will be remembered for his quick wit and humor. He is survived by his life partner, Mary Giamei, and her children, Nick (Marnie) Giamei, of Virgil, Julie Lansdowne, of Cortland and Angela (Louis) D'Angelo, of Pennsylvania; his brothers, Mitch (Laura) Lansdowne, of Marathon, Zeke (Linda) Hilsinger, of Florida and Marc Hilsinger, of Rome, N.Y.; sisters, Kathy Brooks, of Rome, N.Y., Christine Lansdowne (Mark Fox), of Cortland, Sally Lansdowne (Mike Sockbeson) and Kitty Lansdowne, both of Georgia and Amy (Chris) Mauler, of Homer. In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Lansdowne The family will be present to receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, in the Chapel of Riccardi Funeral Home, 69 N.
