SKANEATELES | Lynda Longway Bates, 68, formerly of Skaneateles, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. Born in Syracuse, she was self-employed and formerly worked for Bates Cleaners and Welch-Allyn in Skaneateles. She and her husband, Ron, who died in 2005, were officers in the Skaneateles Snowmobile Club. Surviving are three daughters, Sherry (Tom) Gangloff, of Buffalo, Tammy (David) Manny, of Winston, Ga. and Cindy Bates, of Skaneateles; two brothers, Bob (Louanne) Longway, of Skaneateles and Jim (Kume) Longway, of Texas; three grandsons, Mitchell, Matthew and Justin and nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, followed by a service at 1 p.m., at the Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, 49 Jordan St., Skaneateles.
