Sgt. 1st Class Christopher T. Clary

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. | Sgt. 1st Class retired Christopher T. Clary, 42, currently of Hopkinsville, Ky., went home to be with his Lord on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Keysor Funeral Service, 11362 South St., Cato. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Oswego Alliance Church, 371 Thompson Road, Oswego, NY 13126. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Cato. Chris served with the Army Airborne and fought in both Afghanistan and Iraq. He also served in Kosovo, Korea, Bosnia, Germany, Haiti, and many other countries for more than 20 years. He was the recipient of two Bronze Stars and received the National Non-Com Soldier of the Year award in 2008. He enjoyed being employed by Rolls Royce. For those wishing, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn, NY 13021, in his memory. Chris is survived by his three daughters, Emma, 17, Anna, 14, and Mary 11, and their mom, Victoria Clary, of Kentucky; his parents, Lowell and Cindy Porter, of Cato and Bill and Mona Clary, of South Carolina; his two brothers, Jay Clary, of North Carolina and Andrew (Suzette), of Lyons; sister, Rebecca (Chris) Chase, of Cato, and many loving aunts and uncles. He was a gentle giant loved by all and known for his wonderful smile.
