Charles F. Beaujon, Jr.

OVID - Charles F. Beaujon Jr., age 88, of 6991 Kinne Road, Ovid, passed away on Tuesday (February 12, 2013) at Geneva General Hospital.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday (February 17) at the Ovid Federated Church, 7137 Main Street with Rev. Diane Walker officiating. Prayers of Committal and Military Honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday (February 18) at Sampson Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.

Born on April 13, 1924 in Johnson City, Charles was the son of the late Charles and Roena (Freeman) Beaujon. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 until he was honorably discharged in 1946. In addition to being a lifelong farmer, Charles worked for Cornell University Agriculture Department for 27 years and following his retirement, he worked for the Seneca County Office for the Aging and Nutrition for 10 years. He was a member of the Ovid-Willard Lions Club, Sampson World War II Veteran's, and the Ovid Volunteer Fire Department. Charles was an active member of the Ovid Federated Church serving as a Sunday School teacher and Lay Leader. He enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica, and woodworking.
Charles is survived by his wife of 65 years, Florene of Ovid; four children, Linda (Charles) Hurd of Waterloo, Edward (Wendy) Beaujon of Hellertown, Penn., Laurie (Kevin) Butler of Ovid, and James (Priscilla) Beaujon of Canandaigua; nine grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Hurd, Christopher Beaujon, Scott Butler, Danielle Hoey, Sarah Besemer, Allen, Audra, and Alicia Beaujon; nine great-granchildren, Mackenzie, Mercedes, Miranda, Mattia, James, Greyson, Keira, Kylie, and Ella; a sister, Helen Roberts; four brothers-in-law, Robert (MaryJo), Charles (Helen), Lon (Michiko) Hathaway, and Edward O'Connor; and dozens of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who were all near and dear to his heart.
